¡Hola, Chica! Let’s get this party started by taking a deeper look into today’s topic: Five Ways Busy Influencers Can Balance Relationships. As always, drop a comment in the comment section of this blog post, so we can ALL keep the Party going & genuinely learn new value from each other.
So, have you ever been in the following conversation…
“Wow, you’re an influencer? So, you run your own business? That’s simply amazing! You must have so much more opportunity to just soak up quality time with your husband.
You know I always keep it really real with you. So, I’m going to share the truth with you:
It’s officially February. Well, you know what that means, right? Everyone totally explodes with Valentines Day Gift Guides, hearts, and love galore. For real, buying gifts can be tough. I completely get it. When you’re an influencer and content creator, time can dwindle. Then, you feel too overwhelmed to partake in seemingly easy gift giving.
So, that’s why I’ve exclusively curated three AMAZING Amazon Gift Guides for you to utilize while you’re shopping this Valentines Day Season (and even on into the year, honestly).
So, now that you’ve got these your gift guides covered, let’s discuss ways busy influencers can balance relationships.
As I already clarified, Chica, it can be hard as a busy influencer to balance relationships. John Luke and I got married in Fall of 2017. And, right after we got married (and I do mean right after) I started my full-time business as an influencer and content creator. I’d never owned a business before. So, I was learning amidst the jump to be full-time, intentional, passionate wife AND full-time, intentional, passionate business owner.
But the truth is, this personal and professional balance as an influencer has gotten a lot more manageable as time has passed. I’ve taken a passionate hold of my authentic purpose with morgantyner.com. And, by doing so, it’s allowed me to manage my time and cultivate a well-spring of passion & authenticity. So, even as a busy influencer you can balance relationships. Honestly, if I can do it, then you can do it.
So, what’s your schedule look like? Show me that, and I’ll show you ALL your real priorities. I know this might sound “rigid” or “un-romantic” but hear me out. First off, according to the Pareto Principle, only 20% of aspiring Entrepreneurs make it in real Life (Forbes, Kevin Kruse). And, of this 20% one of the major components to their success is the ability to make (intentional) time for relationships. Doin so has actually drastically improved and strengthened relationships (Entrepreneur.com, Sujan Patel).
In saying this, you cannot let your calendar be only full business endeavors. Yes, when getting your start-up rooted and flourishing you have to put in a lot of (smart) long working hours. But, recognize in the very beginning that maintaining healthy, true relationships is vital so busy influencers can balance relationships.
Pro tip: Set aside at least ten to twenty percent of time in your weekly calendar for non-negotiable, present, quality time with your significant other. LISTEN to what that important person in your Life has to share. Talk about important goals; talk about what their needs are (and how you can proactively help); talk about important decisions that must be made; talk about anything you need to talk about. But, just make it a real priority. After all, this time together is how busy influencers can balance relationships, intentionally.
All in all, being intentional (and striving to cultivate a deeply-rooted relationship) will bring greater fulfillment, joy, and motivation in your life.
Sure, you give your mentor. You will have your brand partners, your customers, your followers, etc. to whom you show appreciation and respect. But, do you give that to your significant other? John Luke has not only been my biggest cheerleader in my start-up, with morgantyner.com, but he’s also been my investor and financial (guru) guide! I’m beyond grateful for his expertise. Actually, I shed some light on his incredible guidance, encouragement, and expertise on Instagram, here.
So, I think it’s safe to say he’s owed some major gratitude and appreciation from me in consideration of all he’s done. Over all, my point is being a significant other to a busy influencer (like myself…and like you) requires massive patience, consideration, and care. Truly, a little bit of love goes a very long way. As a result, I encourage you to be more intentional with your words of gratitude (and appreciation) to your significant other. It’s pivotal for your growth in becoming busy influencers who can balance relationships.
Okay, I know personally from being a business owner that delegating tasks can be an unnerving and difficult. Honestly, it’s so easy to wonder “Who’s actually going to execute these tasks as well as I can?” But, delegating the mundane tasks in your own business will actually free up so much of our time. Any busy influencers who can balance relationships has delegated tasks at some point in their entrepreneurial journey.
For example, at the beginning of 2020, I began delegating a contracted SEO YouTube specialist and editor. Doing so has taught me so much about maintaining trust, staying aligned with my value system, and cultivating a business that’s balanced. On the other hand, a household task that I’ve been able to delegate is (wait for it)…vacuuming!
John Luke and I recently received a Roomba and we been so impressed. We have a Basset Hound named Mila who certainly sheds. So, this Roomba (who we’ve named Consuelo — Spanish for “Comfort” since Roomba brings us comfort) has allowed us to delegate mundane tasks of vacuuming. We still have to vacuum manually. But. Roomba gets a lot of hair up, which saves us so much time.
We’ve been told over and over that it’s important to set boundaries between work life and home life. But, unfortunately, the boundaries are far too easily blurred as an busy influencers working from home. As a needed habit of self-care, I leave my phone plugged in outside of the bedroom before going to bed. But, if I need to set an alarm, I do so with my duo purpose Sleep Sound Machine + Alarm. Also, I try to disconnect at least one hour before going to bed. In doing so, my mind is rested. And, this allows me to be more intentional have quality time before bed. Plus, and it allows me to prevent horrible insomnia.
A tradition John Luke and I began together (in 2020) is going on an annual New Years Retreat. We take a road trip somewhere we’ve never been. On this trip, we spend quality time with each other. We discuss our personal and professional goals for the coming year (both together and separately). Then, we cultivate a plan that will allow us to each reach these goals. Not to mention we have an amazing time exploring a new place, together!
Did you know that sex is one of the biggest stress-reliefs available? In my opinion, we make time for whatever is a priority to each of us. If you say “I don’t have time” then you’re actually saying “It’s not a priority.” So, if you implement the four prior tips (for busy influencers who can balance relationships), then you will have no problem making time for intimacy. Get your endorphins truly pumping and actively halt that low-chronic stress that so often accompanies being an entrepreneur.
Since we are now in February, self love and self care talk tend to be very trending topics of discussion. In honor of all the self care advice that is trending (and my recommendations on how busy influencers can balance relationships), I’ve teamed up with incredible influencers Kelly Clark, Sam Gravener, Jessica Earner, Ruth Shapter, and Katie Rose . We are hosting this month-long self care challenge.
We are firm believers that being totally intentional with self care can completely enhance your life. Together, we believe that curating an opportunity for you to fully embrace self care (and self love) is crucial for anyone who is struggling to prioritize self care.
