¡Hola, Chica! Let’s get this party started by taking a deeper look into today’s topic: 4 Self Care Tips as Working Women Entrepreneurs. As always, drop a comment in the comment section of this blog post, so we can ALL keep the party going & genuinely learn new value from each other!
So, February has officially ended. February is a month TOTALLY dedicated to Self Care Talk galore, right? I believe this intentional dedication is a beautiful priority (I obviously wouldn’t have teamed up with five amazing women entrepreneurs to host the LoveMyself 2020 Challenge if I thought the collaboration would be futile). However, I also believe it’s easy to fall into the trap of being less intentional with self love throughout the rest of the year.
In light of this transition into busy spring-time, I’m going to share four self-care strategies for working women entrepreneurs to consider.
Eating healthy, fresh nutritious meals can sound super duper easy, until your week gets totally crazy and you run out of time. As working women entrepreneurs, time management is crucial. Prepping for the week’s snacks and dinners is one way you can truly get ahead of schedule. And, it allows you to be confident that you are fueling your body with the food it actually needs.
For example, did you know that “by pre-planning your meals you can often eliminate the impulse, ‘pressed for time’ purchases,”? (Peter LePort M.D., medical director of MemorialCare Surgical Weight Loss Center at Orange Coast Medical Center). For example, one of my favorite snacks is sautéed spinach. So, I always make sure to have a bag of spinach on hand for this reason. To learn more, go to my Instagram to follow along with my Mini-Vlogs to re-create your very own yummy smoothie recipes with spinach.
The transition into Spring-time season often involves being more active outdoors in the sunshine enjoying the warmer weather. Honestly, while I’m ALL about a exercising outdoors, I believe a great way to balance your outdoor activities (running, biking, swimming, etc.) is through hot yoga practice.
According to the Healthline.com “one of the benefits of sweating in a warm environment is that it can improve circulation, bringing oxygen- and nutrient-rich blood to skin cells. This, in turn, may “help to nourish your skin from the inside.” Even though you are sweating a lot outdoors, it’s super healthy to balance your fitness with a workout that decreases stress, increases flexibility, plus (all-around) brings you a greater self care personal peace!
One of my very favorite drinks is a yummy, rejuvenating cold-pressed juice. John Luke and I love our cold-press juice machine, and we definitely make juices at least a few times a week. According to Women’s Health Magazine, “Celery [for example] is loaded in antioxidants and is anti-inflammatory, so these nutrients can help you feel good and fight illness” (bye 👋 Coronavirus, lol).
John Luke and I typically incorporate carrots, spinach, celery, ginger, and lemons into our juicing. As working women entrepreneurs, I recommend starting a morning with a cold-pressed juice and also ending our day with a cold-pressed juice. Personally, I wait till mid-morning to actually eat anything solid. I feel so much more energized and healthy in doing so. So, these juices are an excellent way to gather the needed nutritions you need in a given day and week.
The beginning of Spring-time is such a super vibrant and truly exciting time of the year! But, it can also be overwhelming with the break of festival season, vacations, business travel, etc. There is a lot of expectations with creating content and being very active in your local and global community. Truly, this is especially true during this season. But, there’s an unstoppable power in drawing the line in your work day by curating a consistent schedule.
When we love what we do as working women entrepreneurs it can be truly tough to end our day. So, just take a moment to breathe and detox from technology. No matter if technology is draining you or if technology is fueling you, you must take breaks and make time for yourself. Doing so frees up our mind, heart, and soul and makes us far more empowered in self care for working women entrepreneurs.
